- Make sure Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is set as your Default pdf. In order to check this type in "default apps" on the search bar on your Task Bar and click on "Default apps":
- Scroll down and click on "Choose default apps by file type":
- Scroll down again until you see ".pdf" on your screen. If Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is not your default app
- Next right click on the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC icon on your desktop and click on "Properties". If Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is not on your desktop search adobe in the taskbar, right click on Acrobat Reader DC and click on "Open file location" then right click on Acrobat Reader DC and click on "Properties:
- After clicking on "Properties" go to the Compatibility Tab and click on the "Change high DPI settings" button:
- Please make sure the below settings are correct in the High SPI scaling override. The checkbox needs to be checked and System will need to be chosen in the dropdown. If changes are made click on OK and then Apply
- For the final step you will need to enter Adobe Reader and click on Edit (top left) and Preferences (the bottom):
- Make sure the top of the Page Display section matches the screenshot below:

Also, make sure the Security(Enhanced) category does NOT have the top two checkboxes checked. You want them to look like the screenshot below:

The above changes will resolve the majority of issues related to Encompass freezing, shutting down, losing connection or any issues related to viewing or printing documents.
