Title: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Setup and Configure
Problem: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of Security to your Homespire identity. Please follow the steps below to set up MFA for your account. You will either need to configure MFA via Microsoft Authenticator App (Step 6) or via SMS (Step 7).
Solution:
- Open Chrome
- Navigate to https://aka.ms/mfasetup

Enter your information
- Email: [email protected]
- Password: Your O365/Hub Password

Select Next once you have logged in

Choose your MFA method. Proceed to Step 6 for Microsoft Authenticator App. Proceed to Step 7 for SMS.

Follow steps below to set up MFA via Microsoft Authenticator App

On your mobile phone, install and setup the Microsoft Authenticator App
- On your mobile device, go to: https://aka.ms/GetAuthenticator
- Download and install the App

Open the App and select I agree

Select Scan a QR Code

Allow App to access camera

Allow App to access camera

Go back to the Chrome window on the Computer and select Next

Scan the QR Code on the Chrome window with your Mobile Device and then Next

Select Allow Notifications on your Mobile Device if prompted after scanning QR Code

Select Approve Sign-in on your Mobile Device

Select Next once Notification is Approved

Select Done on Success!

On your mobile phone, install and setup the Microsoft Authenticator App
Notes:
For Technician:
- Password reset on Active Directory needs to be followed up with a Sync Powershell command on VM-AD-Connect for the password to be updated on O365/Azure
- Access to the VM-AD-Connect is available to MFA-Support Group and SysAdmin
- User cannot RESET or perform a FORGOTTEN PASSWORD if they have not registered another method of authentication.
